Birthday Shananigans

So I'm going to try to cut loose from the office in a little while so I can go catch a few birthday waves. Skye and I went to Ventura this weekend to see Aimee Mann. She was absolutely incredible! Ventura is a silly little town, though, except for the surfing and the Ventura Theater, which was beautiful. Skye pointed out that she thinks it may have been where the video for "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam was shot. I agreed, but I Googled far too lazily this morning to find out for sure.

After Aimee finished up, we stopped by the photo booth in the Ventura Theater lobby. This photo booth sold itself as a machine to save your children from kidnapping. "Statistically, your child will be kidnapped later this week. Don't you want a current photo?" It said something to that effect on the side of the machine. We recreated our first photo booth experience (from the Santa Monica pier), and here are the results (last year first, this year now):

See how we've grown?

This weekend was such a nice escape, though. Skye and I travel well together, so it's just about 100% relaxing, whatever we do.
